Before any discussion of technology in At-Braith, there's one quick note that needs to be mentioned:
Magick is a fact of life in At-Braith. It is not a limited resource, nor is its use restricted. Anyone can learn magick, though some may have to try harder than others. Also, runic magick only needs an energy source and appropriate channels for that energy to flow. A runesmith can inscribe runes and energy channels without any direct knowledge of magick themselves. Does it make their lives easier if they can charge or create an energy source themselves? Yes, of course, but it's not required.
All of that to say: in many ways technology is indistinguishable from magick. The difference, at least as far as these two wiki pages goes, is that magick requires some knowledge, skill, or instinct. Technology does not.
Magitech is the most common form of technology on At-Braith, but only because magick itself is so prevalent. Consider for a moment how our world would have changed if, instead of requiring coal and a fire, a steam engine could simply have a water reservoir and some heating runes. Trains would probably look quite different.
(Lit. "fire drive")
The magitech equivalent of a steam engine. A typical Tein'bhear will have all of the usual components of a steam engine, except it will not have a fire box. Instead, heating runes will be used instead.
Tein'bhear are not in wide usage, as it did not take people long to realize that there are more efficient ways to utilize elements as drives. Typically, they will be found in the Porrem Desert caravans and in purpose-built specialized functions.
(Lit. "lift drive")
A device as ubiquitous on At-Braith as an internal combustion engine is for us. The Togail'bhear is what allows airships to crisscross continents and oceans. They will feature two different constructions:
(Lit. "water drive")
This device is functionally the same as the propulsion rings on an airship, except that they are designed to move and accelerate water instead of air.
Revenent Tech is anything that has survived across a Renewal. Typically, very few pieces of Revenent Tech make it through a Renewal, and even fewer remain operable. That said, it seems to be a constant that something will make it across. There remains at least three unique instances of Revenent Tech from the beforeWorld that have survived unscathed and largely undiscovered even into the 8th Renewal.
